Saturday 20th March 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Debenham L.C.   1 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United   (0-1)
Back to back away wins for the Seasiders as two goals from Ben Cranfield secured all three points at Debenham Leisure Centre to extend the unbeaten run to six games. Cranfield scored his first on 20 minutes after the visitors had dominated the early play with the Hornets working hard for a reply. Ian Gedny rifled home the equaliser on 64 minutes from 25 yards with Cranfield netting his second ten minutes from time.

Wednesday 17th March 2010 - Ridgeons Youth League Central Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   2 - 1  Stowmarket Town   (0-1)
An injury time goal from Kyle Clover saw the Seasiders collect all three points from another close game against Stow.
With defences on top in the first half there was little goalmouth action with Stow making the best of their opportunity, Leyton Ankin scoring directly from a corner kick.
After the break the visitors enjoyed the greater possession creating a number of half chances without the cutting edge and Felixstowe looked increasingly dangerous on the break. Dawson's through ball split the Stow defence with fifteen minutes remaining and Alex Taylor produced an excellent left foot shot to bring the sides level.
The Seasiders were now on the front foot and when Taylor ran again into the area he was held back, with Taylor's resulting penalty kick saved low to his right by Punter. With a minute of the ninety remaining Ben Punter produced an excellent save to block Taylor's goal bound strike and in injury time Kyle Clover took advantage of a slip in the visiting defence to claim the ball and fire home the winner.
The under 18s are at home to Woodbridge on Monday evening - followed by five away games in succession.
Under 18 Fixtures

Tuesday 16th March 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Ely City  1 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United   (1-1)
Liam Jones' injury time save from Robbie Mason's fierce strike secured all three points for the Seasiders at the Unwin ground. Ben Cranfield had fired Felixstowe into the lead on the half hour off the underside of the bar after Saker's goal bound shot had been cleared off the home goal line.
A blistering free kick from Jamie Alsop had brought the sides level on 43 minutes with Paul Berry regaining the lead for the visitors with a low left foot shot eleven minutes into the second half. Felixstowe came under pressure as the game came to a close defending in strength and with great determination to retain the lead to the final whistle.

Sunday 14th March 2010 - Jamie Perry
It was with shock and great sadness that we heard Jamie had collapsed and died at a football match this morning. A very popular local player Jamie played for the Seasiders during three seasons from 2006 - 2009 scoring sixteen goals for the Reserves during that period and was a member of the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup winning side in 2007.
Jamie was only 28 and recently married. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy is with Jamie's family and friends at this very sad time.

Saturday 13th March 2010 -
Ridgeons League Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   2 - 2  Mildenhall Town   (0-0)
The Seasiders had to come from behind twice to share the points against a slick passing Mildenhall side who were looking to extend a four match winning run. There was plenty of action in the opening 20 minutes before the game settled into a match where both defences were dominant. There was also late controversy when the visitors were awarded what looked a match winning penalty with ten minutes left, but Glenn Driver has instilled resilience into his side and they recovered to earn a point for the third game in a row.

Saturday 13th March 2010 -  Ridgeons Reserve League (South)
Wivenhoe Town Res.   1 - 3  Felixstowe & Walton United  Res.
The Reserves travelled to Harwich & Parkeston F.C. (Royal Oak), as Wivenhoe were having problems with staging the fixture at their Broad Lane Ground. A brace from Andy Lewis and another goal from Miles Powell saw the Seasiders claim all three points and record their sixth win in succession.
Match Report
Next Saturday the Reserves are at home to Witham Town

Thursday 11th March 2010 - Ridgeons Youth League Central Division
Stowmarket Town  1 - 1  Felixstowe & Walton United   (1-1)
The Under 18s were happy to return home from Greens Meadow with a well earned point after resisting increasing second half pressure.
The Seasiders started brightly with Stow keeper Langfield producing an excellent save after ten minutes to deny Dawson, but it was the home side who took the lead with Kristian Johnson claiming the final touch from Leighton Atkin's corner kick on the half hour.
The lead was short lived as Matt Mackenzie rifled home the equaliser less than a minute later from Taylor's precise pass after Dawson had switched play in midfield. Noon denied Stow the lead three minutes before the interval saving at the angle of post and bar from Jerome Haynes well struck free kick.
Stow created increasing pressure on the Felixstowe goal in the second half but failed to test the visiting keeper until eight minutes from time when Noon saved well from Davies. Felixstowe looked dangerous on the break, with Langfield holding Taylor's low shot well, but it Stow who finished the game strongly winning a succession of corners with the Seasider's defence holding firm to gain a valuable point.

Tuesday 9th March 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Hadleigh United   1 - 1   Felixstowe & Walton United   (1-0)

Ben Cranfield
earned the Seasiders a point seven minutes from time and an off-side flag denied Felixstowe's star player Luke Read a last minute winner after a close and at times tetchy game with both benches spoken to by the Referee.
After Felixstowe had controlled the opening half hour, with Hetherington and Wright going close and Harewood clearing Stuart's goal-bound header off the Hadleigh line, Darius Laws netted from all of 40 yards to change the whole pattern of the game.
Hadleigh maintained a high defensive line frustrating the Felixstowe forwarded line who saw two goals ruled out for off-side. Jones saved from Payne, Wright and Haywood before a triple substitution on 66 minutes saw the visitors increase the pressure on the home goal, resulting in Cranfield's equaliser.
Match Report

Tuesday 9th March 2010 -
Ridgeons Reserve League (South)
Felixstowe & Walton United  Res.  7 - 1  Ipswich Wanderers  Res.  (2-0)
A magnificent seven for the Seasiders as they recorded their fifth successive league win, Lewis Driver scoring a well deserved hat-trick and Luke Hopkins, Miles Powell, Jordan Matthews and Tommy Smith also on the team sheet. The visitors gained a late consolation from the penalty spot.
Match Report

Monday 8th March 2010 -
Ridgeons Youth League Central Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   0 - 0  Leiston
The under 18s entertained top of the table Leiston holding them to a goalless draw in an open game which saw defences in charge. Both keepers had to be alert but were not seriously tested until injury time when Leiston, except for an excellent save at a post, would  have conceded an own-goal. That would have been cruel luck given the closeness of the game over 90 minutes and both sides deservedly earned a point.
Match Report

Saturday 6th March 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Needham Market  1 - 1  Felixstowe & Walton United   (1-0)
With a broken nose and a bloodied shirt Martin Calver inspired the team to dig deep and gain a point from Championship chasing Needham Market after conceding an early goal. Danny Smy scored with a shot on the turn from the edge of the area with just a minute on the watch to put the home side ahead with the visitors responding well to create a number of first half openings without finding the final touch and Waters produced a good save to prevent Harrop extending the home sides lead before the break.
An open game continued at high tempo in the second half with both sides creating opportunities and the Seasiders persistence was rewarded on 78 minutes when Paul Berry rose to head home the equaliser from Barber's right wing cross. Waters made a low save from Parker as both sides went for the win with Gay in the home goal kept busy in the closing minutes as the Seasiders finished strongly and going close to snatching a late winner through Calver and Mackenzie.
Match Report
On Tuesday the Seasiders travel to Hadleigh United who recorded a 2-0 win at Dereham this afternoon.

Saturday 6th March 2010 -
Ridgeons Reserve League (South)
Long Melford  Res.   0 - 5   Felixstowe & Walton United  Res.  (0-1)
An Allicion Blake hat trick and two goals for Jordan Mathews saw the Reserves complete a quick league double over Long Melford and record their fourth win in succession without conceding a goal.
Match Report
On Tuesday the reserves entertain Ipswich Wanderers k.o. 7.45pm.

Tuesday 2nd March 2010 - Ridgeons Youth League Cup 2nd round
Ipswich Wanderers  1 - 3  Felixstowe & Walton United   (0-1)
Goals from George McCallum, Matt Mackenzie and Adam Dawson saw the Seasiders into the the third round draw on a cold but dry evening at Humberdoucy Lane. When Lewis Higgins scored for the Wanderers with 88 minutes on the watch their was a brief sense of de-je-vous but there was to be no repeat of last week's dramatic late come-back.
Match Report

FA Vase - Following Wroxham's victory over Needham Market the Yachtsmen will play Sussex County side Whitehawk in the two legged semi-final. The first leg will be played at Whitehawk on March 27th with the second leg at Trafford Park on 3rd April.  Barwell and  Norton & Stockton Ancients will try again this Saturday, following postponement due to a water logged pitch, for the right to entertain Vase holders Whitley Bay in the first leg of the second semi-final.

Saturday 27th February 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   1 - 0  Hadleigh United   (1-0)
Keith Hetherington's well taken goal on 33 minutes for the Seasiders was all that separated the sides on a sunny afternoon at Dellwood Avenue. Home keeper Jones saved Roper's spot kick on the stroke of half-time after blocking Wright's progress and the final action of the game saw Roper fire over the home cross-bar when well placed to score. Hadleigh will be disappointed not to have gained a point from the game having created a number of scoring opportunities.

Wednesday 24th February 2010 -
Ridgeons Youth League Central Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   3 - 3  Ipswich Wanderers  (1-0)
Wanderers claimed a point with three goals in a final dramatic ten minutes after the Seasiders had looked to have the points securely in the bag. McCallum opened the scoring with a deflected free kick on six minutes for the home side and Knight's made a good save to prevent Mackenzie extending the lead in an open first half which saw the visitors denied an equaliser by an offside flag as half time approached.
Noon saved from Coleman before Egerton doubled the Seasider's lead just before the hour and when McCullum's corner kick was deflected of a defender into the visitors net for the third with fifteen minutes remaining the points appeared secure.
Wanderers had produced good built up play without threatening to score until Trenter turned the ball home for what looked like a consolation with six minutes remaining on the watch. Three minutes later with the rain driving down Trenter scored his second and on the stroke of full time Stephen Smith was awarded a penalty which he fired home for a dramatic equaliser.

Saturday 20th February 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Ely City  v  Felixstowe & Walton United   - match postponed

We arrived as the match Referee judged the pitch unfit for play. Overnight frost had thawed to provide a soft surface reminiscent of the old Baseball Ground and although both teams were prepared to play the final decision had to belong to the Referee, so it's all back to the Unwin Ground on Tuesday 16th of March.

Saturday 20th February 2010 - Ridgeons Reserve League (South)

Match Report

Wednesday 17th February 2010 -
Ridgeons Youth League Central Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  7 - 0  Diss Town  (4-0)
A magnificent seven from the Seasiders with Jordan Egerton and Liam Barber both scoring hat-tricks and Kyle Glover also netting. However, this was far from being a one sided encounter with the Tangerines creating a number of openings with good build up play but lacking a decisive cutting edge.
Match Report
Next Wednesday the Under 18s are at home to Ipswich Wanderers.

Saturday 13th February 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Kirkley & Pakefield  4 - 0 Felixstowe & Walton United   (2-0)
The Royals superior fire power saw them through to a comfortable win, with the contest evenly contested until the first goal on 37 minutes when Stock's shot was diverted home off a post by the unfortunate Stuart.
Three minutes before the break home keeper Woodcock brought down Allicion Blake, on his Seasider's debut, but after Referee Stobbart pointed to the penalty spot play was brought back for an off-side decision. With seconds remaining in the half Russell Stock headed home the second to give the home side a two goal lead at the break.
Ryan De-Cotea
fired home an unstoppable shot on 65 minutes and after striking a post Nathan Stone completed the scoring on full time.

Debenham LC   v  Felixstowe & Walton United   -
match postponed ground unfit for play
With another match postponed due to the weather March looks like being a very busy month with seven matches currently scheduled for the under 18s. The month kicks off on Tuesday 2nd March with a visit to Ipswich Wanderers in the Ridgeons Youth Cup.
Before that there are two home games on the last two Wednesdays in February with Diss and Ipswich Wanderers the visitors.
Under 18 Fixtures

Wednesday 10th February 2010 - Harwich & Parkeston F.C.
We were very sad to hear today that Harwich & Parkeston had withdrawn from the Premier Division of the Ridgeons Football League with immediate effect.
The Club intends to continue by playing in the Essex & Suffolk Border League next season with a view to rebuilding and, hopefully, a return to Senior Football as soon as possible.  The League intends that permission be granted for Harwich & Parkeston Reserves to complete the season's fixtures in the Ridgeons Reserves Teams Division.
As a result of Harwich's resignation all the league fixtures that they have so far played will be expunged from the records and the league table updated accordingly.
There will now be a maximum of one team relegated from the Premier Division to the First Division at the end of the season.

Tuesday 9th February 2010 - Friendly Fixture
Felixstowe & Walton United  2-1  Woodbridge Athletic (1-0)
Many thanks to Woodbridge Athletic for visiting Dellwood Avenue at short notice to provide a much needed run out for the Seasiders.

Ridgeons League Cup - Wroxham defeated Great Yarmouth 2-1 after extra time in the 2nd round this evening and will play Needham Market next Tuesday. Winners will play Walsham le Willows in the semi-final on Wednesday 24th February.
(If Wroxham lose to Needham Market next Tuesday we will play Wroxham at Dellwood Avenue on Tuesday February 23rd.

FA Vase Quarter Final Draw
Needham Market have some impressive form in The Vase, having reached the Quarter Finals last year and the Semi-Finals the year before that. They will now play Royston Town or Wroxham at home.
Gresley’s reward for edging a seven-goal thriller at Long Buckby on Saturday is a home tie against Whitehawk or Marske United.
Vase holders Whitley Bay are still in this season’s competition after drawing 1-1 at Chertsey Town at the weekend, both goals coming in the first ten minutes. If they win Saturday’s replay at Hillheads Park, they won’t have to travel too far with Shildon waiting to take them on at Dean Street.
Those Sixth Round ties are scheduled for 27 February, with the four winners each collecting £5,000 from the prize fund.

FA Vase  - Needham Market earned their place on Saturday with an impressive 2-0 victory over one of the competition favourites Daventry Town. Second half goals from Damien Hilton and Craig Parker saw Needham progress to the quarter finals for the third successive season.
Wroxham
beat Armthorpe Welfare 3-0 in a penalty shoot out after the two teams drew 1-1 in their 4th Round Replay at Trafford Park. Wroxham now travel to Royston Town this coming Saturday where victory will see them join Needham Market in the quarter finals.
We wish Wroxham success at Royston, but this has led to the postponement of our league fixture against Wroxham this coming Saturday. (Please note that if Wroxham lose to Needham Market in the League Cup on Tuesday 16th February our league game will be played on Tuesday 23rd February)

Ridgeons Reserve League (South)
Felixstowe & Walton United  Res.  2 - 0 Haverhill Rovers   (1-0)

Jordan Matthews gave the home side a first half lead and Adam Hampson confirmed the win close to full time.
The result was in the balance right up until the final minute when Adam Hampson slotted the ball home as the Seasiders broke out quickly with a sweeping move that split the visitors defence.
Lee Norfolk got another 90 minutes under his belt after his prolonged absence through injury as did Kristian Haighton and Andy Lewis and the home side should have had the points in the bag before the half time break but failed to put away the chances they created.
Jordan Mathews put his side ahead in the 28th minute as he met Norfolk’s corner with a perfect volley from just inside the area with both Driver and Lewis having good opportunities to extend that lead before the break.
It was a half dominated by the home side but Haverhill had a bigger share of the play in the second period, forcing young Adam Dawson into a couple of fine saves but Lewis rattled the Haverhill woodwork and volleyed just over before Hampson calmed the late nerves with a clinical finish.

Wednesday 3rd February 2010 - Ridgeons Youth League Cup 1st round
Felixstowe & Walton United   3 - 1   Cornard United  aet   (1-1 after 90 mins)

At a rain swept Dellwood Avenue the Seasiders advanced to the second round, where they will visit Ipswich Wanderers, thanks to extra time goals from Egerton and McCallum.
Kemp gave the visitors the lead with a well struck shot five minutes before the break in normal time after an evenly contested half which saw both sides playing neat expansive football.  Cornard held the upper hand after the interval, with keeper Noon keeping the home side in the tie with a number of fine saves notably to deny the dangerous Whittaker. With less than ten minutes remaining Mackenzie ceased on a half chance to fire the ball past Walker to take the game into extra time.
Two more saves from Noon in the first period of extra time denied Whittaker and Swain saw his shot blocked before the tie suddenly moved in favour of the home side. Egerton forced the ball home from close range following a free kick and McCallum from 20 yards confirmed the win with five minutes remaining.
Match Report

Saturday 30th January 2010 -
Ridgeons League Premier Division
Mildenhall Town  0 - 0  Felixstowe & Walton United
Level on points at start of play this was expected to be a closely contested game and despite a blank score-line both sides produced an entertaining game with a number of openings without finding a telling finish. Best scoring opportunities in the first half saw Hall's keeper Pope saved from Wright and Sands brought a fine save from Jones as the home side finished the half strongly.
Jones was down quickly to keep out Thurlbourne's low strike early in the second period and Mackenzie went close to converting Saker's cross for the Seasiders as both sides went for the win but with defences determined clear chances were limited and both recorded a clean sheet.

Jamie Cole
opened the scoring for Debenham on seven minutes with Tom Moon in the home goal producing two good saves to deny the visitors any further advantage in the first half.
As the second half progressed Felixstowe began to threaten and Sam Chilvers in the Debenham goal denied Butcher from close range to retain the lead before Clover completed a flowing move from the Seasiders to draw level but parity was short lived with Kemp snatching the winner.

Under 18 Fixtures

Saturday 23rd January 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Walsham le Willows  1 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United   (1-0)
With four players on debut the Seasiders gradually built a firm understanding and increasingly dominated as the game progressed. Clarke opened the scoring for the home side on 12 minutes with a low drive following a corner and although Felixstowe produced good approach play McAnaly in the home goal was not unduly tested in the first period.
After the break Walsham defended deeper looking for opportunities on the break and with Ainsley's influence increasing pressure built on the home goal. Wake's cross, having been released by Ainsley, was met by Mackenzie on 53 minutes with the unfortunate Simon Head getting the final touch for the equaliser. The visitors continued to press and another slide rule pass from Ainsley found Wright who maintained composure to steer the ball past McAnaly and the post for the winner with ten minutes remaining.
Match Report

Wednesday 20th January 2010 - Ridgeons Youth League Central Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  3 - 3  Thetford Town  (1-1)
Thetford finished the game strongly scoring twice in the final fifteen minutes to earn a point. Alex Taylor opened the scoring for the Seasiders after only three minutes and despite creating a number of openings the home side failed to build on the early lead and the game was all square at the break after Jordan Fisher scored from the penalty spot at the end of the half at the second time of asking, keeper Tom Moon saving his first attempt but adjudged to have come forward off his line.
Captain Liam Butcher netted from close range within two minutes of the restart and when George McCallum added the third from a sweetly struck free kick five minutes later the points looked to be theirs for the taking but Thetford dug deep and on 72 minutes Danny Foster pulled a goal back from the edge of the area to give them hope. With three minutes remaining on the watch Danny Fernandez struck from all of thirty yards to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.

Saturday 2nd January 2010 - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   1 - 5  Woodbridge Town  (1-2)
The Woodpeckers recorded their third win of the season in some style going Nap at Dellwood Avenue as the Seasiders were defeated at home in the league for only the second time this season.
This looked a home banker on paper but the young Woodbridge side had not read the script with their mobile forwards finding space behind a changed Felixstowe defence.
Ben Seaman opened the scoring on 26 minutes from the penalty spot having dusted himself down after being bundled over in the area. Four minutes later Duane Wright equalised with a headed goal from Read's free kick but the visitors were ahead at the break after Josh Mayhew found himself free on the edge of the area to fire low under the diving Waters.
Three minutes after the break Mayhew scored his second in similar fashion from the edge of the area and despite increased pressure from the Seasiders the Woodbridge defence held firm and were presented with a fourth following a defence mix-up in the Felixstowe six yard area thirteen minutes from time which Mayhew may claim. Mayhew confirmed his hat-trick a minute later guiding the ball over Waters from all of 25 yards and securing three valuable points for the Woodpeckers.

Leiston  2 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United   (1-0)
An equaliser from Duane Wright deep into injury time at the end of the game saw the Seasiders gain a deserved point from a very competitive game against championship contenders Leiston. After an evenly contested opening half hour the home side took the lead through Paul Hart rising high to head Boardley's precision cross from the left under the Felixstowe bar. An athletic save from Waters denied Hart his second on 52 minutes and ten minutes later it was all square as Keith Hetherington met Wake's cross, heading onto the home bar before heading the rebound past Stannard. Both sides went for the win and fourteen minutes from time Shane Wardley beat the off side trap to net what looked like the winner, but Felixstowe had not read the script and poured forward as the clock ran down with Wright sliding home the equaliser at the post.

Reserve Team Fixtures

Wednesday 16th December - Ridgeons Youth League Central Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 8  Walsham le Willows   (1-3)
An emphatic win for the visitors after the Seasiders had taken the lead on 10 minutes through Liam Barber and in an evenly contested opening twenty minutes there was nothing to suggest that one team would win so convincingly. Following the equaliser on 22 minutes Walsham ceased the initiative and control of the game to lead 3-1 at the break.
Playing neat football with the ball on the ground Walsham maintained their grip after the break with Jack Brame completing his hat-trick as the visitors scored at regular intervals to run out comfortable winners.

An enjoyable afternoon, many thanks to those that attended including Father Christmas.

Saturday 12th December - Ridgeons League Premier Division

Felixstowe & Walton United    2 - 1   Norwich United  (1-1)
Substitute Matt Mackenzie's long range strike deep into injury at the end of the game claimed all three points for the Seasiders as the game looked to be heading for a draw. Wright opened the scoring for the home side on six minutes and a good spell from the Planters saw them equalise on 23 minutes through Blyth. An even second period with both sides enjoying spells of pressure but neither keeper was unduly troubled until Mackenzie struck.

Saturday 5th December - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United     5 - 1   Debenham LC   (3-1)
Manager Glen Driver was expecting a positive response from his players following last Saturday's lack lustre display and they did not disappoint as they went Nap against the Hornets. Cranfield & Hetherington fired the Seasiders into a two goal lead within 16 minutes with Jopling replying for the visitors on 23 minutes before Wright scored the goal of the game from 35 yards to restore the two goal lead five minutes later.
Debenham rang the changes and worked hard after the break to gain a foothold in the game but the Seasiders are a tough nut to crack at home and Hetherington's second and Cranfield's, from the penalty spot, saw the home side through to all three points and a rise to sixth in the table.

League Cup  1/4 Final Draw

Saturday 28th November - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Dereham Town   4  -  0   Felixstowe & Walton United    (2-0)
Many former Magpie players were at Aldiss Park to celebrate the Club's 125th Anniversary and they will have enjoyed the performance of the current players wearing the black and white as they comfortably defeated a Felixstowe side that were disappointing once again away from home.
The influential Smith opened the scoring on 20 minutes with Beaumont adding the second six minutes later and only an acrobatic fingertip save from Waters prevented Beaumont from increasing the lead further before the interval.
It was one way traffic again after the break as Beaumont scored his second and Howell headed home the fourth with ten minutes remaining. The scoreline flattered the Seasiders with Driver's effort, comfortably held by Higgs, five minutes from time the only shot on target for the visitors.
On this showing the Magpies will quickly rise up the table and the Seasiders will be pleased to see that their next three games are at home.

Saturday 21st November - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United   1 - 1  Kirkley & Pakefield   (1-1)
With 6th playing 5th in this East Coast derby a close competitive encounter was anticipated, and so it proved with honours even following an entertaining game. Both goals came in a fast paced first half with Nathan Stone heading home for the visitors after 16 minutes and Duane Wright netting the equaliser eight minutes before the interval.
Kirkley enjoyed plenty of possession in the second period but it was the Seasiders that came closest to snatching victory with only a magnificent diving save from Woodcock denying Felixstowe's top scorer Hetherington. A fair result and well done both sides for an entertaining game.

Saturday 3rd October - F.A. Vase First Round Proper
Felixstowe & Walton United   1 - 1  Long Buckby   -  after extra time
120 minutes of football at a 'breezy' Dellwood Avenue could not separate the sides so it's map books out and off to Station Road Long Buckby on Tuesday night.
After an evenly contested first half the two goals were scored within five minutes of the restart with Ben Cranfield volleying home to put the Seasiders ahead and Greg Ling quickly restoring parity for the Bucks. As the game progressed the visitors looked the most likely to claim the tie with Rose in the home goal the busier of the two keepers but Buckby's Urqhart produced the save of the game to deny Cranfield and take the game to a replay.

It was with great sadness that we heard Viv Hunton had died earlier today.

Wednesday 30th  September - Ridgeons League Cup (Preliminary Round)
Walsham le Willows  3 - 0  Felixstowe & Walton United  (1-0)
Walsham progressed to the first round of the competition, where they will travel to Ipswich Wanderers, following a comfortable win against a young Felixstowe side.
A good performance from the Seasiders with plenty of creative play in the first half without threatening the home goal. Steve Holder opened the scoring on 38 minutes with a header from Attwood's corner as the home side started to impose themselves on the game with Bloomfield closest to scoring for the Seasiders, following a good run into the area, with McNally making a comfortable save in the home goal.
Goal mouth incidents were rare despite good build up play from both sides but just before the hour Brown's run into the area resulted in an opportunity for Stuart Walker to force the ball home from close range. Rose made a double save to deny Partridge and Musgrove as the game drew to a close and on the stroke of full time Paul Musgrove tapped the ball home to confirm the win.

Monday 28th September - Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup 2nd Round
Felixstowe & Walton United  Res.  4 - 2  Woodbridge Town Res.  (2-2)
The Seasiders dominated the second half to progress to the third round as they finally overcame a determined defence, and numerous saves by the impressive Woodbridge keeper Ellis.
Stuart Bailie volleyed home after only two minutes to give the Woodpeckers an early lead and despite Felixstowe pressure and Mackenzie striking the bar the visitors doubled their advantage through James Churchill on twenty minutes. The third goal was all important and just before the half hour Miles Powell rose to head home from Hopkins' corner with Luke Hopkins equalising with a well struck shot three minutes before the break.
Ellis palmed Mackenzie's fierce strike onto the bar two minutes into the second period as the Woodbridge goal came under sustained attack but a combination of fine keeping and poor finishing kept the sides level. Matthews and Smith both placed the ball wide from four yards and Phillips struck the bar before, with ten minutes remaining and the visitors down to ten men after the dismissal of Nicholls, a cross-shot from wide on the left from Ashley Phillips finally defeated Ellis to put the home side ahead for the first time. With two minutes remaining Matt Mackenzie confirmed the win with a powerful drive to send Felixstowe into the third round.
Match Report

Saturday 26th September - Ridgeons Reserve League (South)
Felixstowe & Walton United Res.  8 - 2  Cornard United Res.  (5-0)
A first half hat-trick for Andy Lewis (right) as the young Seasiders dominated the game after a bright start from the visitors on a warm sunny afternoon at Dellwood Avenue.
Lewis fired home his first after 14 minutes following a strong run from 40 yards with Powell, well advanced from his back four position, showing a high level of skill to double the lead for the Seasiders seven minutes later. Alert to a poor back-pass Lewis was on hand to slot home the third and his hat-trick followed five minutes from half-time as he slid the ball home home following good work from Jordan on the right to create the opening. The Nap hand came from Matthews three minutes later when he skipped past the visiting defence to steer the ball home after his first attempt came back off a post.
Mackenzie converted Lewis's cross one minute after the restart as Felixstowe continued to play the ball around well with Butcher volleying home the seventh and Mackenzie picking him self up to score the eighth, and his second, from the penalty spot with 17 minutes remaining. To their credit Cornard kept their heads up and were rewarded with two late goals from Crisell, the first an excellently struck free kick and the second from the penalty spot three minutes into injury time.

Wednesday 23rd September - FA Youth Cup
Felixstowe & Walton United  1 -2  Needham Market  (after extra time)
Ellis Barber
converted from Henry's cross twelve minutes into extra time to take Needham through to the next round of the FA Youth cup.
Needham started strongly with Guy Dugdale scoring the opening goal for the visitors after 12 minutes and they could have been further ahead but for a number of fine saves from Noon in the home goal. Felixstowe steadily increased their share of possession and chances were created by both teams but failed to be converted until 12 minutes from time when Butcher's shot came back off the far post and Matt Mackenzie was on hand to bundle the ball home from close range. The visiting keeper produced a flying save to deny Mackenzie and ensure extra time where Barber provided the vital goal.

Tuesday 1st September - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Harwich & Parkeston  1 - 1   Felixstowe & Walton United  (0-1)
Terry Rymer's
53rd minute headed goal from Warren's free kick saw the Shrimpers deservedly collect their first point of the season and they may well have claimed all three as they worked hard to close down and hurry the visitors in their work.
Ben Cranfield headed Felixstowe into the lead on 19 minutes from Barber's corner after Mahoney had produced two finger tip saves in quick succession to deny Hammond and Cranfield as the visitors controlled the first half hour of the game. Harwich gradually  increased their tempo pressuring the visitors into mistakes and finished the half strongly with Rymer threatening and Eldridge heading over the Felixstowe bar from King's cross.
Cranfield struck the home bar within two minutes of the restart but Felixstowe failed to build on their advantage before Rymer struck to bring the sides level with Rose having to be alert to secure a point for the visitors.

Luke Berry's headed goal just after the hour mark for the visitors looked like being the decider until Ben Cranfield slid the ball past Davies with five minutes on the watch for a deserved equaliser.

Match Report

Tuesday 11th August - Ridgeons League Premier Division
Felixstowe & Walton United  1 - 0 Harwich & Parkeston  (0-0)
In contrast to Saturday, an injury time goal saw the Seasiders collect all three points with the Shrimpers dealt a cruel blow having fought gallantly for an hour a player short.
The home side enjoyed the lions share of possession throughout, even more so after Harwich's Darren Bethell was dismissed for a second yellow on 35 minutes. But despite creating a host of chances the home side failed to unduly trouble Mahoney in the visitors goal with the exception of Brambles header that found the Harwich cross bar on the half hour.  Indeed Cudworth's save to deny Calver's excellent shot at his near post with three minutes to go was the best save of the game and denied Harwich a late and unexpected win.
With the Seasiders heading for their first goalless draw for over two seasons the tireless Adam Hampson slotted home the winner in the third minute of time added on.

Saturday 8th August - Ridgeons League Premier Division

Norwich United   3 - 2  Felixstowe & Walton United  (1-1)

An injury time penalty denied the Seasiders a point at Plantation Park this afternoon after Adam Hampson had brought the sides level with ten minutes remaining. Captain Matt Stace had fired Felixstowe ahead on eight minutes with Tony Youngs equalising for the Planters two minutes before the break and Ricci Butler putting the home side ahead three minutes after the restart. The young Felixstowe side fought back well in the warn sun with Hampson looking to have earned them a point before, you guessed it, Porky Claydon fired home from the penalty spot with seconds remaining.

Pre-Season Matches

Saturday 1st August
Felixstowe & Walton United  0 - 1  Grundisburgh
A single goal midway through the first half from Sandilands decided the outcome of the Seasiders final pre-season game before the trip to Norwich United next Saturday.
Other than the goal when Grundisburgh found space on the left to cross for Sandilands to head wide of Rose, neither side posed any serious threat in the first half. Mackenzie had the Seasiders best chance midway through the second period but saw his effort go agonisingly the wrong side of the upright.

Felixstowe & Walton Res  7  Grundisburgh Res.  0
Kevin Witchalls' side ran out comfortable winners against the visitors second string taking a 4-0 lead into the half time break and firing in a further three in a second half that ended in torrential rain after starting in bright sunshine.
Goals from Mathews 2, Bloomfield 2, Ellwood, Woolnough, Butcher.
